Brief Description of the Master Program:
The purpose of the Program is to train highly qualified specialists for work in the fields of science, engineering and technology in areas related to design and development of mechatronic systems using fluid power for various applications including aircraft engines control.
Objects of the professional activity for graduates are the following:
o    mobile machines and robots, gas turbine engines and power plants, machine tools and industrial equipment;
o    methods and tools for design, simulation and experimental study of mechatronic systems for mobile and stationary applications;
o    research and development of mechatronic systems using CAE/CAD/PDM-software.
The curriculum was developed in cooperation with the Lappeenranta University of Technology and meets not only Russian but the international requirements.
The Program features are as follows:
o    academic mobility of students (allows studying one year in the Lappeenranta University of Technology);
o    internship at the leading enterprises and research centers of the country;
o    interactive methods and distance education systems;
o    combination of training with research at the Centre of Mechatronics and Robotics and the Chair of Power Units Control Systems, SSAU.
 
Professional skills:
The graduates of the Program acquire a set of professional skills in the following areas:
o    control systems;
o    fluid power transmission and motion control;
o    design and development of robotic and mechatronic systems;
o    modeling and simulation of robotic and mechatronic systems; 
o    modern problems of aircraft engines engineering;
o    dynamics and control of hydraulic, pneumatic and fuel systems; 
o    testing of mechatronic units and systems;
o    automatic control systems of technological processes; 
o    design of experiments and measurement technology;
o    reliability and diagnostics of mechatronic systems;
 
The field of professional activity:
The field of professional activity of graduates includes the areas of science, engineering and technologies related to research, design and manufacturing of robotic and mechatronic systems using fluid power for various applications including aircraft engines fuel and control systems.
The Program prepares professionals for the following activity:
o    Design engineering;
o    Engineering technology;
o    Scientific research;
o    Organization and management.
o    Manufacturing.
Students within the major choose to specialize in some area by studying subjects up to the student's choice, individual programs, practical and research works of students, content of final qualifying works.
Training on an individual curriculum is generally carried out in close cooperation with the enterprises - the future employers of graduates either for intensive training of graduates to continue their post-graduating studies.

Russian industry is currently experiencing an acute need for the specialists able to meet challenges of modernization and automation of technological processes using multidisciplinary approach. Graduates having the Master Degree in Mechatronics skilled in pneumatics and hydraulics, electronic and control systems have almost guaranteed employment opportunities at enterprises of various industries including aerospace cluster in Samara Region (ALCOA, Delphi, Schneider Electric, Alliance AVTOVAZ-RENAULT-NISSAN, Bosch, JSC Information Satellite Systems, Comau, Camozzi, NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS, Rosneft, Nissan Manufacturing Rus, Nestle, Salut, JSC Space-Rocket Center "Progress", Rocket and Space Corporation "Energia", V.
