PRE-UNIVERSITY TRAINING

The faculty of base training and fundamental sciences has been founded in 1990 as the faculty of pre-university training. The faculty must activate the work on the attraction for study in university in SSAU of the most advanced youth.

The Dean is E.A.Iszheurov - Dr.Sci.Tech., the Professor of the Chair of Automatic systems of power units.

11 members of staff and the lecturers of the University work at the faculty. About a half of them have the Academic Degree.

At the present time the faculty consists of:

· The entrance examination;

· The center of professional orientation;

· The training department;

· The pre-university training course;

· The center of working with lyceums and lyceum classes;

· The testing center.

Every year more than 1200 schoolarships (700 – at the pre-university training course, 400 – at the lyceums and lyceum classes, 100 – at the training department) are studied at the faculty. The studies are in the buildings of the University, and also at schools of Samara, Novokuibyshev and Togliatti.

CORRESPONDENCE EDUCATION

The faculty of correspondence education established in 2000 at SSAU. To date more than 1000 persons study at the faculty. The correspondence education is guided by people, which are included in the educational activity, when the need of knowledge is realized. The new knowledge becomes to them the most important condition of professional growth and career. The faculty of correspondence education of SSAU gives the opportunity to get the first and the second higher education. The brief educational programmes are provided for the persons, which have got the vocation training. The training executes on the budgetary and the contract basis (with full compensation of the charge for the training). The contracts conclude a treaty with physical and legal persons.

The training at the post-graduate study is executed on the full-time course of study and on the correspondence education at the expense of the federal budget and on the contracts with the compensation of the costs with physical and legal persons.

The information for the enrollments to the post-graduate study

The enrollment to the post-graduate study with the compensation of the costs is conducted from the 1^st of  March (the reception of the documents from the 1^st to the 15^th of March) and from the 1^st of September (the reception of the documents from the 1^st to the 15^th of September). 

The enrollment to the post-graduate study at the expense of the federal budget is conducted from the 1^st of April (the reception of the documents from the 1^st to the 15^th of April) and from the 1^st of September (the reception of the documents from the 1^st to the 15^th of September). 

The persons, which have the higher professional education, submit to the post-graduate study on the competitive basis (at the expense of the federal budget).

The intrants hand in the following documents to the department of the post-graduate study:

1.     Application addressed to rector

2.     Copy of the diploma of state standard of higher professional education with enclosure

3.     Quastionaire

4.     List of the published scientific works, if a candidate has not such works, he has to write the essay according to the selected theme of the dissertation

5.     Response of the research manager on the scientific works or on the essay in accordance with a set form

6.     Certificate about the result of the candidates’ examinations (if they passed)

7.     Extract from the protocol of the chair meeting with the recommendation to the enrollment to the post-graduate study

8.     Extract for improving of the theme of the Ph.D. dissertation with signature of the scientific supervisor

9.     Copy of the national passport

The forms of the listed documents are at the department of the post-graduate study.

The intrants to the post-graduate study pass the entrance examinations in accordance with the state educational standards of the higher professional education:

§       Special discipline;

§       Philosophy;

§       Foreign language.

The results of the master’s finals on the philosophy and the foreign language are accepted for the entrance examinations to the post-graduate study, if in the personnel master’s curriculum was stipulated such master’s examinations on these subjects.

The content of the entrance exam on the foreign language:

1.     The speciality’s text, which has the volume of 1800 printable characters, on the foreign language has to read and translate to the Russian language with the dictionary. The preparation time – 60 minutes.

2.     The evaluation reading of the speciality’s text and rendering of it’s content on the Russian language. The volume of the printable characters 2000, the preparation time – 3 – 5 minutes.

3.     The discussion with the examiner on the foreign language on the speciality and on the general themes.

Information for the post-graduates

The post-graduates study in accordance with their individual curriculum, which is made together with the scientific supervisor in accordance with the educational programme of the post-graduate study on his speciality and is consolidated by the council of the faculty or the council of the University.

Every year the post-graduates are attested by the chair and the council of the faculty, on which is decided about the continuation of the education or the sending down. On the chair the post-graduate student makes the report about the results of the work during the past year. The scientific supervisor is reported on the council of the faculty (institute). 

The post-graduates students are presented the individual curriculum with the results of the attestation to the department of the post-graduate study personally.

The candidate’s examinations are passed 2 times per year in the period of the examinations:

-         Spring session: from the 15^th of May to the 15^th of June;

-         Autumn session: from the 15^th of October to the 15^th of November.

The candidate’s written the application form, which has to put to the department of the post-graduate study before the month till the beginning of the session with the signature of the head of chair on which the exam is passed.

The application forms are at the Chair of Philosophy and Foreign Language and at the department of the post-graduate study.

The persons, which finished the post-graduate study and did not pass the qualifying examinations for the candidate degree in the corpore, submit to the passing (or repeating the examinations in the case of the change of the scientific speciality) on the conditions of the competition with the compensation of the expense in accordance with the approved estimates.

The passing of the candidate’s examinations out of session’s term is permitted in the exceptional cases, if the post-graduate student is passed the preliminary defence of the dissertation.

The main normative and legal documents, which are regulated the rights and duties of the post-graduate student:

1.     Federal law «About higher and subsequent professional education after graduating the university» № 125-ФЗ, issued 22.08.1996.

2.     Order issued 27.03.1998 № 814 «About approval of the Regulations about the preparation of the scientific and pedagogical staff in the systems of the subsequent professional education after graduating the university in the Russian Federation»

The competitors of the academic degree of the candidate of science

The competitors of the academic degree of the candidate of science could be the persons, which have the higher professional education.

The competitors, which are working at the candidate’s dissertation, can pass during the term of 2 years the candidate’s examinations and during no more than 3 years the preparation of the candidate’s dissertation.

Enrollment is carried out 2 times in the year: in March and September by the order of the rector on the basis of the personal application, which were fastened, and the respective documents.

The receptions of the documents are accordingly from the 1^st to the 14^th of March and from the 1^st to the 14^th of September.

The following documents are necessary for the enrollment:

·       Application to the rector’s name in accordance with a set form;

·       Questionnaire;

·       Copy of the diploma about the higher professional education with the enclosure;

·       Comprehensive plan of dissertation’s work;

·       Extract from the protocol of the corresponding Chair meeting with the recommendation for enrollment, with the ratification of the scientific supervisor and the ratification of the theme and comprehensive plan of dissertation’s work.

The enrollment of the competitors from the outside organizations is realized on the contract basis with the compensation of the charge for the training.

DOCTORATE COURSES

The preparation of the Doctors of Science by way of Doctorate Courses carries out on the following scientific directions:

1.     - Experimental physics apparatus and methods.

2.     - Laser physics.

3.     - Flying vehicle design, construction and production.

4.     - Flying vehicle strength and heating conditions.

5.     - Flying vehicle heat engines, electric propulsions and electric power plants.

6.     - Control and testing of flying vehicles and their systems.

7.     - Elements and devices of computers and control systems.

8.     - CAD systems.

9.     - Mathematical modeling, numerical methods and software.

The persons, which have the academic degree of the Ph.D., are submitted to the Doctorate Courses.

The training is implemented on the full-time course of study at the expense of the federal budget and on the contracts with physical and legal persons.

The education’s term is no more than 3 years.

The receptions of the documents are realized since the 1^st of April.

The application is made on the name of the rector of the University. The following documents are attached to it:

·       Copy of the diploma about awarding of the academic degree of the candidate of science (Ph.D.);

·       Comprehensive plan of the preparation of the dissertation’s work;

·       List of the published scientific works;

·       Reference of the scientific and pedagogical activities;

The State Grant is paid to the persons working for the doctor’s degree, which were enrolled in accordance with state plan.

SUPPLEMENTARY PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

The Institute of the Supplementary Professional Education (ISPE) has been created on the 19^th of February, 2004 and it is the structural subdivision of the Samara State Aerospace University (SSAU). The activities of the Institute are carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, University regulations, the status of the University, as well as the rector’s orders of SSAU.

The main task of the institute is the rendering of the broad spectrum of the educational service to the lecturers of the universities and technical schools, the students, the employees of the industrial enterprises and other categories of the pupils with the purpose of the acquisition by them of the supplementary professional knowledge and skills in the perspective line of the development of the science and techniques.

The Institute has the following structural subdivisions in its structure:

Faculty of the raising the level of the lecture’s skills (FRLLS);

Faculty of the raising the level of the engineer’s skills (FRLES);

Center of the computer preparation and supplementary education (CCPSE).

ISPE is occupied the SSAU’s area and used the material and technical potential of Aerospace University.

The leading lecturers of SSAU, as well as specialists of the industrial enterprises gave lecturers of ISPE.

The directions and specializations of the retraining are corresponded to the profile of the leading Chairs and Faculties of the University. The modern informational and computer technologies are taken the special place in the curriculum.

The nonresident listeners are provided for the places of residence at the hotels and health and fitness center of SSAU.

The studies on the courses of the raising the level of skill are in the convenient time for the listeners, in the small groups no more than 10 persons. The method of teaching is supplied the combination of the theoretical knowledge with the practical on the basis of the modern educational technologies.

The studies for the most discipline, which are bound up with the work on the personal computer, are in the new educational center ORT-HP. The center is supplied with the most modern computer and office equipment from Hewlett-Packard Corporation.
