The exhibition “Peoples of Russia: The Beauty of Nature and Cultural Diversity” continues in the lobby of Building No. 3, offering visitors a vivid journey through the rich ethnic heritage of Russia’s multi-ethnic society. The curators have carefully presented the distinctiveness and cultural uniqueness of nine ethnic groups: Bashkirs, Buryats, Kazakhs, Komi, Mordvins, Germans, Russians, Tatars, and Chuvash.

Central to the exhibition are photographs contributed by members of the Hiking and Mountain Tourism Club “Svarog”, showcasing landscapes from their expeditions across Russia and neighboring regions: the Subpolar Urals (Komi Republic), Lake Elton (Kazakhstan), the Bugulma-Beloretsk Upland (Tatarstan), the Osh-Pando-Ner’ and Kabantau mountains, the Zhiguli Hills (Samara Region), Tratau Mountain (Bashkortostan), and the Eastern Sayan range. These images reflect the natural and cultural diversity of Russia’s peoples through the eyes of passionate travelers, highlighting both the striking beauty of the land and the deep connection between environment and identity.
Visitors encounter two complementary visual narratives: on one side—breathtaking photographs of traditional homelands and distinctive landscapes that have shaped each ethnic group; nearby—images of authentic national costumes. Accompanying each display is concise yet informative text outlining key traditions, customs, and historical background.
The core mission of the exhibition is to celebrate the uniqueness of every ethnicity while emphasizing the vital importance of cultural interpenetration. Particular attention is given to fostering mutual respect and understanding—values that serve as the foundation of a strong, unified Russian society. The organizers believe the exhibition not only strengthens interethnic dialogue but also serves as a timely reminder of the immense cultural and natural heritage that must be preserved for future generations.
Such initiatives nurture tolerance, encourage mutual appreciation, and help build friendly ties among diverse communities. May these vibrant images inspire pride in our multinational homeland and a shared commitment to building a harmonious and cohesive society.
The organizers are confident that this event will make a meaningful contribution to safeguarding Russia’s cultural legacy and serve as a source of inspiration for new generations eager to explore their past and understand the present.
