Vladimir Gutenev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade, paid a working visit to Samara University. He got acquainted with competencies of the staff and the equipment of the Centre for Additive Technologies of General Access opened in 2025, and delved into the work of the new climate research laboratory.
Vladimir Gutenev also took part in the round table participated by students and postgraduates of the Institute of Aerospace Engineering and the Institute of Engine and Power Plant Engineering. The deputy was particularly interested in the indicators of the target recruitment for training under educational programs, as well as projects implemented in hardware jointly with key partners of the University.
The young people told Vladimir Gutenev about their developments in the field of space instrumentation engineering, and the rector Vladimir Bogatyrev outlined the leading areas of the University’s development program — aerospace engineering and technology, energy engineering, photonics, geoinformatics and IT. The University expands and complements these areas with new growth points in the field of carbon balance and soil microbiome, additive technologies and robotics.
“It was extremely interesting for me to learn about new projects and get acquainted with new research laboratories of the University. I would like to note that the University does not just dynamically develop: the range of your partners and projects is expanding, you are open to collaborations with other universities, which means that you have very good opportunities and development prospects,” concluded the deputy after his visit to the University. “I was very pleased to hear your ideas, and I have something to adopt.”
