Project Office 5-100 is launching a new website

05.05.2016 2016-05-05
Project Office 5-100 is launching a new website: studyinrussia.ru, designed to attract foreigners to Russian universities. It is intended for prospective foreign applicants and their parents. For the first time ever, all you need to know about studying in Russia’s best higher education institutions is accessible from a single source.

Users can enjoy the “quick search” option to find the program and the school they need. Right now, the site contains descriptions of more than 2,800 undergraduate and graduate courses.

Another special feature of the site is a step-by-step infographic guide for applicants to Russian universities.  You can easily find the list of required documents, information about free-tuition quotas, academic Olympics, and upcoming education events.

According to Alexander Povalko – Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Russia: “Internationalization, including attracting students from other countries to Russia – is one of the key priorities of the development of Russian universities participating in Project 5-100. In 2014, more than 156,000 foreign students studied in Russian universities. We hope that the website Study in Russia will help even more young people to appreciate all the advantages of Russian higher education”.

The portal will help you to find quickly the right university, level of education, and major field of study; it will show you how to learn more about the cost of a specific program, and provide you the chance to test your Russian language skills by taking an online test. The information is available in three languages – Russian, English and Chinese.

A separate section is devoted to living and studying conditions in Russia. Here you will find information about campuses and dorms, transportation, student benefits, healthcare, meals, leisure and climate, and much more. Even if you don’t know Russia well, Study in Russia will help you to get a full picture of the system of Russian higher education, including history and traditions, statistics and rankings. The site has pages in key social networks – VK, Google+ and also on YouTube.

34% of foreign undergraduates and 28 % of international graduate students relied on the recommendations of those who have studied in Russia when choosing the country where they wanted to enroll. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Center for Sociologic Research in spring 2015 which covered 4,000 respondents – students from foreign countries studying in Russia. A special section of the website Study in Russia (as well as on the website’s YouTube channel) is devoted to the testimonials of students who share their experience of studying in the Russian Federation.
